Tesla Universal Wall Connector
Installation in Bellefonte
A homeowner in Bellefonte had just picked up a Tesla Model Y and wanted a Tesla Universal Wall Connector in the attached garage. The 200-amp Square D QO panel in the basement had room for a dedicated 60-amp circuit. No panel upgrade needed.
The run was about 40 feet from the basement panel over to the garage. The house is a split-level, so the garage sits on the basement level. The walls in there are painted concrete block, not drywall, so there's no cavity to fish wire through.
We ran the circuit in conduit, mounted to the block in one clean vertical drop down to the charger. The Wall Connector mounted next to the door to the house, cable coiled and ready.
Fun detail: the Tesla Universal Wall Connector has a NACS plug and a built-in J1772 adapter — works with any EV, regardless of plug type.
